This is your weekly Supernatural episode recap, brought to you by yours truly – and oh my GOD no pun intended, that was amazing! That’s the Supernatural I’ve been missing! I don’t know about you guys but I had a blast watching this episode, it had a fantastic atmosphere to it, the plot was great, some significant developments are happening in the plot and with the brothers’ relationship… man, I hope I manage to cover it all in this review!

Valentine's Day Poster
Although this is primarily a television blog, occasionally we may come across a film, music or a book that we think our readers will enjoy, and alert you to that fact. And alas, this week despite my better judgement, I ended up in a cinema watching Valentine’s Day: and here’s the kicker – I kinda enjoyed it. Sure, it wasn’t the most highbrow of movies, but I would say it was enjoyable, if a little depressing in the way that romcoms always are to us singletons. So I thought I would report back for all those teetering on the edge of indecision about whether to see it. Read on for cuteness and criticism:

Hello and Happy Valentine’s Day! Today I was going to bring you the next installment in my occasion-themed blogs by doing the Top 5 Romantic TV Episodes. However, I felt writing a blog about romance before reaching the Mulder/Scully eps in The X-Files would be useless as so many consider them the couple. So look forward to that at some point in the future. Instead, I thought I’d bring you something a little more on the Fringe (and possibly romantic) – some reflections on the Winter finale and maybe a little theory or two…

This week Lost smashed back onto our screens with its stunning two-hour premiere, LA X. The new episode also marks a new style for this blog – with both myself and Selina doing a roundtable-type post, which will hopefully give some different aspects and opinions while remaining quite concise – brevity does not tend to be our strong point, so we thought we’d spare the uber-rambling posts and go for something a little more… dare I say it… out of the box. Ohhh I make myself laugh if no one else…

What is this?
Five In Focus is a monthly column we will be running here in the Box where we will take one television show a month and choose our top five episodes of all time. This month it’s me, Selina, and next month it will be Aly. I chose Buffy because this might just be my favorite television show of all time; certainly it was the show which introduced me to “fandom” and all that came with it, so this should be fun. For other shows, Aly and I might do separate lists if we’ve both watched them, and we will continue to do this until we run out of shows. Individual in-depth episode reviews might also follow. Because this is our first month, I am not planning to review any of my top five as of now, but look for reviews in the future. Enjoy, and leave us a comment!
Lost's Iconic Eye-Opener
To say we’re two massive Lost fans who founded this blog mainly to pontificate about it, it’s crazy to think neither of us have even posted about Lost yet. But alas, the day of doom is fast approaching us, and as we all wait with bated breath for the final (*sniff*) premiere, I thought it would be nice to discuss the impact Lost has had on us, the world, and some things I’m looking forward to in season six. Besides y’know… getting my life back.
So firstly, I apologise that all my posts right now seem to be lists. It’s generally how I organise my life, but I promise in the future I’ll do more show-specific less-list-like blogs. Anyways, with most shows on a temporary hiatus coming out of the Christmas season, I thought I’d take a moment to reflect on the first half of the shows we’ve been watching this year. I had intended to write individual reviews for these episodes, but honestly I have just not had the time, so instead I thought I’d do a general review of them all. Many of the shows featured here are those which I pre-empted in this post, so it should be interesting to compare my expectations to my reactions. Enjoy!
SPN5x11 'Sam, Interrupted'
Supernatural is baaaack! And more importantly… so am I! Haha, just kidding. I believe this is what they call, “delusions of grandure.” Badam-bam.
So um, yeah, terrible jokes aside, let’s get to talking about this week’s episode! Did it remind anyone else of “Folsom Prison Blues” like, way?! I suppose there’s only so many ways they can do a story like this. Personally though, I was never a big fan of prison stories early on because I just wanted the boys out on the road, but at this point it’s almost a relief when they get a moment to breathe, as it were, a break from the apocalypse.
